Description

Climate change represents a serious threat to human society and the natural environment. During the last century the Earth warmed approximately 0.7 ?C largely due to increased greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions resulting from human activity. Without action to reduce GHG emissions global temperatures are predicted to rise 0.3 ? 6.4 ?C by 2100, with sea levels rising by 0.18 ? 0.59 metres compared to 1990 levels (Solomon et al., 2007a).
