Description

High rates of lack of motivation and lack of interest in learning and carrying out teaching and learning activities are some of the difficulties faced by children with dyslexia during their educational training. However, nowadays the use of technological tools has facilitated the process of reading and writing, providing didactic and interesting teaching for children with special educational difficulties. The objective of this article is to develop an interactive software using virtual reality tools, which implements the Orton Gillingham approach. This ap-proach is mainly designed to work visual, auditory, and kinesthetic skills. By im-plementing the didactic game, it is possible to evaluate the technological ac-ceptance and improvement of the condition of children with dyslexia in their read-ing and writing skills. The results of a study carried out in a psychological center prove that children with dyslexia have improved their condition favorably. It was proved that the stimulation of the senses by means of virtual reality allows them to improve their reading and writing skills, improving the areas affected by dys-lexia such as background figure, visual-motor coordination, syllabication, laterali-ty, and position in space.
