Este trabajo tiene por objeto encontrar líneas comunes sobre la historia de Latinoamérica a través de la vida de las mujeres del siglo XX, particularmente en la economía, la política y la organización social. Metodológicamente sigue las sugerencias hechas por Adamovsky (2007) para un análisis socio-histórico, que consiste básicamente en mostrar fuentes históricas no tradicionales para compararlas y señalar sus puntos comunes. Teóricamente este trabajo simpatiza con los desafíos de los estudios postcoloniales que reclaman reconocer a quienes tradicionalmente han sido invisibilizados. Utiliza como fuentes un grupo de historiografías de América Latina, que recuperan memorias de mujeres latinoamericanas como testigos de su tiempo. Se organiza este documento en las siguientes partes: el siglo XX, las mujeres en la economía, las mujeres en la política y la sociedad. La principal conclusión es que el siglo pasado, fue testigo de una revolución silenciosa de las mujeres que solo es posible recurriendo a fuentes no tradicionales.
This paper aims to find common lines on the history of Latin America through the lives of women of the twentieth century, particularly in economics, politics and social organization. Methodologically follows the suggestions made by Adamovsky (2007) for a socio-historical analysis, which consists basically in showing non-traditional historical sources to compare them and to point out their common points. Theoretically this work sympathizes with the challenges of postcolonial studies that claim to recognize those who have traditionally been invisible. It uses as sources a group of historiographies of Latin America that recover memories of Latin American women as witnesses of its time. This document is organized in the following parts: the twentieth century, women in the economy, women in politics and society. The main conclusion is that the past century witnessed a silent revolution of women that is only possible using non-traditional sources.
