El Cuestionario de Maduración Neuropsicológica Infantil (CUMANIN) es un instrumento de medición de funciones neuropsicologías básicas. Comprende cinco subpruebas no verbales y tres verbales. El objetivo del trabajo, es obtener criterios de madurez neuropsicológica en niños y niñas conforme a criterios como la edad y el género en las áreas y subáreas de la prueba, así como evidenciar el coeficiente confiablidad. En el presente estudio participaron 1080 niños y niñas de 36 a 78 meses de edad, procedentes de diferentes instituciones educativas del cantón Ambato, Ecuador. Los resultados indican que existen puntaciones altas del CUMANIN en el área no verbal principalmente en la edad de 36 a 42 meses. Las diferencias de género por áreas, subáreas e índice de desarrollo global muestran diferencias significativas (El género Masculino puntúa más que los del género Femenino) en la escala verbal global, estructuración espacial y ritmo. En el análisis de fiabilidad los coeficientes de consistencia interna alfa oscilan entre .84 y .91 para las escalas verbal, no verbal y el índice Global de desarrollo. The Neuropsychological Maturity Questionnaire for Children (CUMANIN) is a measuring tool for basic neuropsychological functions. It comprises five nonverbal and three verbal subtests. The aim of this work is to obtain neuropsychological maturity criteria from male and female children according to standards such as age and gender in the areas and subareas of testing; besides to prove the reliability coefficient. The present study involves 1080 boys and girls from 36 to 78 months of age, from different educational institutions of Ambato, Ecuador. The results show that there are high scores of the verbal section on the CUMANIN, specially on ages from 36 to 42 months. The differences on gender per areas, subareas and global development index are significant (males score higher than females) in the global verbal scale, spatial structuring and rhythm. On the reliability analysis the alpha internal consistency coefficients range from .84 to .91 for verbal scales, nonverbal and global development index. It is presented a discussion on the applicability of this instrument for diagnosis and research criteria about children from Ecuadorian boys and girls
