P?ramo is a tropical alpine ecosystem, which occurs at elevations above 3000 meters. P?ramo is located in the Andes of northern South America and in some parts of Central America: Panama and Costa Rica. The p?ramo is composed of different types of vegetation and exhibits many local differences in climate, soil, and hydrology.
