Feminicidio: el delito enunciado a partir de la perspectiva de niñas y niños (Tema Central)

This paper intends to highlight the perceptions of children who experience their mother’s violent death. It can be assumed that people’s lives change after such a traumatic event. However, it is all too common that actions undertaken after violent crimes are mainly focused on the adults involved in the event. However, what happens to children when the femicide of their mother occurs? This issue leaves many unanswered questions requiring serious analysis and a deep, respectful, and consistent reflection on the children’s needs. In the following paper, I analyze the importance of “lending an ear” to the emotions of children after such a traumatic event to better understand the magnitude of the impact they suffer and the importance of having comprehensive protection mechanisms for their fundamental human rights.
El presente artículo es una aproximación hacia las concepciones de niñas y niños que han experimentado la muerte violenta de su madre, así como a las ideas que logran establecer luego de ocurrido el hecho. Es de suponer que la vida en su conjunto cambia; sin embargo, las acciones posteriores al delito se enfocan mayoritariamente en los adultos alrededor de él. ¿Qué sucede con los hijos e hijas cuando ocurre el feminicidio de su madre? Esta pregunta deja grandes interrogantes que requieren de un análisis y una reflexión profundos, respetuosos y consecuentes con sus necesidades. En las próximas líneas se analizará la importancia de “prestar oídos” a los sentimientos que surgen en niñas y niños para establecer una mejor comprensión de la magnitud de las afectaciones que se producen, y la importancia de contar con mecanismos de protección integral de sus derechos humanos fundamentales.
