Fotoperiodismo, instrumento pacificador de memoria colectiva e identidad cultural del pueblo awá en el departamento de Nariño (Tema Central)

Within the Colombian state, communities have generated processes of resistance and cultural survival through pacifying means of collective memory, such as documentary journalism, portraying collective memory scenarios of our indigenous communities in favor of their worldview and oral tradition. This article will be developed in two special sections, explaining the importance of photojournalism and responding to the following problem. Why can documentary journalism be considered a pacifying instrument of collective memory in favor of remembrance, valorization, and restructuring of the right to the cultural identity of the Awá community (Nariño)? Consequently, emphasis will be placed on documentary journalism through the observation and interpretation of the historical memory of the armed conflict in Colombia, which has influenced the ways of living of the Awá community, highlighting documentary photography as an instrument of peace and Relevant collective evocation in the Post-conflict, which would allow the remembrance, restructuring, and valorization of the right to cultural identity which would be approached, from the perspective of the SIDH (Inter-American System of Human Rights) and based on Gadamer’s aesthetic theory. Therefore, the stages portrayed and invested in photography will highlight part of social memory.
En el Estado colombiano, las comunidades indígenas han forjado procesos de resiliencia y pervivencia cultural a través de medios pacificadores de memoria colectiva, entre los que el periodismo documental destaca como idóneo para retratar dichos escenarios. El presente artículo desarrollará tres puntos específicos: el primero explicará la identidad cultural como derecho fundamental y humano en Colombia a partir de la teoría estética de Gadamer; el segundo abordará el desarrollo del fotoperiodismo como instrumento pacificador de la memoria colectiva y su incidencia en la protección del derecho a la identidad cultural; y el tercero abordará el estudio del proceso de fotoperiodismo adelantado por el fotógrafo Juan Manuel Barrero, respecto a la memoria colectiva que recrea usos y costumbres identitarias que forman parte de la resistencia y protección del derecho a la identidad cultural de la comunidad indígena awá en el departamento de Nariño. Este artículo se desarrolla bajo un paradigma histórico hermenéutico con un enfoque cualitativo. Tuvo como finalidad comprender el periodismo documental a través de la observación e interpretación de la memoria histórica del conflicto armado en Colombia, desde las vivencias del resguardo indígena awá, para el que la fotografía documental ha servido como instrumento pacificador y de evocación colectiva relevante en el posconflicto, al permitir la remembranza, la reestructuración y la valorización del derecho a la identidad cultural desde el enfoque del Sistema Interamericano de Derechos Humanos.
