Description: The Andean Community faces an evident legitimacy crisis that may forecast its future collapse. Despite this, the efforts to rescue this process seem to be limited, especially those coming from the civil society. This article intends to explain this phenomenon, based on the apparent lack of a regional collective identity, by questioning the notion of an “Andean identity” and the lack of involvement of the civil society in the Andean integration process.
La Comunidad Andina se enfrenta a una notoria crisis de legitimidad, que pareciera pronosticar un futuro colapso. A pesar de ello, los esfuerzos para rescatar a este proceso parecen ser escasos, especialmente desde la sociedad civil. El artículo explica este fenómeno, basándose en una aparente falta de identidad colectiva regional, cuestionando la noción de una “identidad andina” y la falta de vinculación de la sociedad civil dentro del proceso de integración andino.
