Estimación de la edad cronologica según el método de Gustafson en piezas dentales permanentes extraídas en la Unidad Académica de Salud y Bienestar de la carrera de Odontología de la Universidad Católica de Cuenca, durante el periodo de Junio - Agosto del 2016

OBJETIVO: Este estudio fue Validar la utilidad del Método de Gustafson mediante un estudio realizado en piezas dentales extraídas de pacientes adultos atendidos en las Clínicas de la Carrera de Odontología de la Universidad Católica de Cuenca. MATERIALES Y MÉTODOS: se tomó un total de 32 pacientes que cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión que han asistido a realizarse exodoncias en la Clínica de la Carrera de Odontología de la Universidad Católica de Cuenca en el periodo de Junio a Agosto del 2016, de los cuales se obtuvieron un total de 46 piezas dentales, entre estos estaban comprendidas dentro del grupo de edades entre los 24 a 64 años de edad, que se incluyeron en este estudio, para poder realizar esta investigación se utilizaron radiografías periapicales digitales de las pieza dentales obtenidas, negatoscopio, microscopio digital USB, fotografías de los mismos, los cuales fueron medidos mediante parámetros como: la atrición dental, la translucidez, la reabsorción radicular, la dentina secundaria y cemento radicular. RESULTADOS: La muestra fue de 32 pacientes que se presentó en un rango de edad de 24 a 64 años, de los cuales se obtuvieron 46 piezas dentales que dio como resultado una variación de edad de un año y cinco meses en relación a la edad real del paciente. CONCLUSIONES: Esta investigación nos permitió comprobar que en las edades de 24 a 64 años existe una desviación estándar de un año y cuatro meses y con la utilización de este método nos permite validar la estimación de edad en pacientes latinoamericanos según su edad real.
AIM: This study was to validate the usefulness of the method of Gustafson through a study on teeth extracted from adult patients in the clinics of the career of Dentistry of the University Catholic of Cuenca.\nMATERIAL AND METHODS: It took a total of 32 patients who met the criteria for inclusion who attended perform extractions in the clinic of the career of Dentistry of the University Catholic of basin in the period of June to August of the 2016, of which were a total of 46 teeth, among these were included within the Group of ages between 24 to 64 years of age, that were included in this study, to carry out this research used digital periapical radiographs of the piece obtained dental, viewBox, photographs of them, which were measured using parameters, such as: the dental attrition, translucency, root resorption, secondary dentin and cementum.\nRESULTS: The samble was of 32 patients that is presented in a range of age of 24 to 64 years, of which is obtained 46 parts dental that gave as result a variation of age or a year and five months in relation to the old Royal of the patient.\nCONCLUSION: This research allowed us to see that there is one standard deviation in the ages of 24 to 64 year and four months and with the use of this method us allows validate the estimation of age in patients American according to their age real.
