OBJETIVO: Determinar la relación entre la ocupación y la negligencia del cuidado dental en adultos jóvenes de 18-44 años de edad de la Parroquia Huayna Capac en la ciudad de Cuenca,2017. MATERIALES Y MÉTODOS: la metodología que se aplico fue cuantitativa, diseño caso control, comunicacional y retrospectivo. La muestra se obtuvo mediante la aplicación de encuestas cuyos datos fueron registrados en el programa EPIINFO. RESULTADOS: los resultaos obtenidos fueron que la negligencia dental se presenta mayormente en el sexo masculino y en menor cantidad en el sexo femenino y las edades que tienen mayor cantidad de casos y controles con los de 18 y 25 años de edad y la mayoría de personas que son negligentes dentales son las personas con ocupaciones expuestas. CONCLUSIÓN: Se determinó que no hay relación entre la ocupación y la negligencia del cuidado dental en adultos jóvenes de 18 - 44 años de edad de la Parroquia Huayna Capac de la ciudad de Cuenca, 2017, siendo este no ser un factor de riesgo para desarrollar la enfermedad.
