La presente investigación tiene como objetivo analizar la importancia del Corpus Christi y su contribución a la identidad cultural en los grupos culturales que participan en la festividad en la parroquia de Alangasí, cantón Quito. El enfoque que se utilizó en la investigación fue cuali-cuantitativo, ya que permitió recolectar información directamente de los miembros de los grupos culturales mediante la encuesta y a expertos en la problemática de la investigación mediante las entrevistas que fueron contrastadas con el trabajo de campo mediante la observación directa en la cual se obtuvo la información fiable y adecuada para entender la importancia que tiene la festividad del Corpus Christi en el desarrollo de la identidad de los miembros de los grupos culturales en Alangasí.
The present research aims to analyze the importance of Corpus Christi and its contribution to the cultural identity in the cultural groups which participate in the festivity in the Alangasí parish, Quito county. The approach used in this research was qualitative-quantitative, as it allowed to gather information directly from the members of the cultural groups through a survey and to experts in the research problem, through interviews that were contrasted with the field work, through direct observation in which reliable and adequate information was obtained to understand the importance of the festivity of Corpus Christi in the development of the members’ identity of cultural groups in Alangasí.
