La novela histórica ha mantenido su posición de subgénero con respecto a la novela sin tomar en cuenta que la Historia –como categoría filosófica– es un eje transversal en todo código de significación. Esta investigación se preocupa de las relaciones conceptuales entre la Historia y la Literatura a través del estudio pormenorizado del libro La novela histórica de György Lukács. Con una epistemología ya analizada, se ensaya una tipología de la novela histórica (tomando en cuenta, brevemente, al corpus teórico de la novela en sí) estudiando las particularidades que diferencian una de otra forma de novelar. Estos modelos, junto a los ejemplos citados por el crítico húngaro, se contrarrestaran con el efectivo ejercicio de la novela en la totalidad de la producción narrativa del escritor italiano Umberto Eco (cuya primera novela data de 1980 y la última del 2015) quien ha demostrado un abierto interés en la reconstrucción del pasado como una lectura del presente. Todo esto para demostrar cómo el tiempo interviene de forma directa en las pequeñas decisiones –en las grandes pasiones– no de seres humanos específicos sino de la humanidad entera: las palabras de cada
The historical novel has maintained its position of subgenre with respect to the novel without taking into account that the History –as a philosophical category– is a transversal axis in every signification code. This research is concerned with the conceptual relationships between History and Literature through the detailed study of the György Lukacs’ book The historical novel. With an epistemology already analyzed, a typology of the historical novel is tested (taking into account, briefly, the theoretical corpus of the novel itself) studying the particularities that differentiate one from another form of novel. These models, together with the examples quoted by the Hungarian critic, will be counteracted by the effective exercise of the novel in the entire narrative production of the Italian writer Umberto Eco (whose first novel dates from 1980 and the last one in 2015) who has demonstrated an open interest in the reconstruction of the past as a reading of the present. All this in order to demonstrate how the time intervenes directly in making decisions –on the great passions– not of specific human beings but of the entire humanity: every elemental particle’s words without which reality would be nothing but vague lucubration
