El presente proyecto de titulación se basa en la propuesta de un Plan de Desarrollo Turístico de Cotacachi, en la Provincia de Imbabura. La investigación está constituida por cuatro capítulos correctamente definidos; el primer capítulo sirve de pilar fundamental para apoyar y sustentar la información levantada en esta investigación, el segundo capítulo abarca el diagnóstico de la situación actual del sistema turístico del cantón, el tercer capítulo contiene el análisis de cómo es percibido el destino por los turistas, cuarto y último capítulo que cuenta con la propuesta de posibles mejoras a realizar en los atractivos y capacitaciones a la comunidad receptora que juega un rol fundamental en el presente plan de desarrollo; todo esto con el fin de darle realce al destino en general y crear una experiencia gratificante al turista.
The present project is based on the proposal of a Tourism Development Plan to Cotacachi, located in the Imbabura Province. The research is constituted by four correctly defined chapters; the first chapter serves as a fundamental pillar to support and sustain the information raised in this research, the second chapter covers the diagnosis of the current situation of the canton's tourism system, the third chapter contains the destination analysis about what tourists think about it, fourth and the last chapter that has the proposal about the improvements to do in the touristic attractions and the trainings directed to the community that plays a fundamental role in the present development plan; all this in order to enhance the destination and create a rewarding experience for tourists.
