Actualmente, en Ecuador cada vez son más los casos en los cuales se diagnostica Trastorno por Déficit de Atención e Hiperactividad -en adelante TDAH-, afectando en gran medida tanto a las familias como a las instituciones de educación en los cuales se presentan dicho casos; es por lo anterior que, el presente trabajo tiene como finalidad analizar el régimen jurídico de protección a personas que padecen TDAH en Ecuador, estableciendo en primer lugar un estudio conceptual acerca de dicho trastorno con el objetivo de dar una mejor comprensión al tema objeto de estudio; de igual manera, enunciar el régimen jurídico de protección internacional referente a la salud como derecho humano; así como también realizar un estudio comparado con países como España, México, Colombia y Chile para abordar de manera más amplia la necesidad de protección a este grupo poblacional; y finalmente el presente artículo expone la situación en cuanto a la protección de las personas que padecen TDAH en el Ecuador.
Currently, in Ecuador there are more and more cases in which Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is diagnosed, greatly affecting both families and educational institutions in which these cases are presented; It is for the above that this article aims to analyze the legal regime of protection for people suffering from ADHD in Ecuador, establishing in the first place a conceptual study about said disorder with the aim of giving a better understanding of the subject under study; likewise, enunciate the legal regime of international protection regarding health as a human right; as well as carrying out a comparative study with countries such as Spain, Mexico, Colombia and Chile to more broadly address the need for protection of this population group; and finally this article exposes the situation regarding the protection of people suffering from ADHD in Ecuador.
