Se denomina, colecistitis aguda calculosa a la inflamación que ocurre en la vesícula biliar ocasionado por el obstáculo a su salida de la bilis, que suele ser de manejo clínico – quirúrgico. (1,2). Se presenta un estudio observacional, transversal y retrospectivo, en donde se seleccionó las colecistectomias que tuvieron un método de abordaje por medio de laparotomía como laparoscopía, con un total de 161 pacientes, en donde 95 (61.5%) se le aplico técnica laparoscópica, 62 (38,5%) por medio de colecistectomía abierta, y un pequeño grupo (2,4%) se convirtió a técnica abierta.

An observational and retrospective study was carried out, where appendectomies were performed, using a laparoscopy approach, with a total of 161 patients, where 62 (38.5%) were submitted to a conventional technique and 99 ( 61.5%) by laparoscopic technique and a small group of 4 (2.5%) surgery was performed; The hospital stay and complications were compared according to the type of approach used. It was concluded that there is a greater presentation of complications and a higher incidence of infection of the approach site, by the open technique, which is why it is recommended to use laparoscopy to approach this pathology.
