Sensibilidad dental post-tratamiento aclarante : revisión sistemática.

Introducción: El aclaramiento dental es de los procedimientos más realizados en odontología actualmente debido a que cada vez existe mayor concientización sobre el aspecto dental, aunque dicho tratamiento mejore la estética y la calidad de vida de los pacientes existen efectos secundarios siendo el más frecuente la sensibilidad dental siendo un factor desagradable para el paciente. Objetivo: Identificar la prevalencia de la sensibilidad dental post-tratamiento aclarante. Materiales y métodos: En el presente estudio de tipo revisión sistemática, a través de metabuscadores como PubMed, Elsevier y Google académico se realizó una búsqueda de artículos científicos ECA de los cuales se utilizó 31 para la recolección de datos, solo se seleccionaron aquellos estudios que estaban disponibles en español e inglés, publicados entre los años 2000 – 2020. Resultados: Se analizaron 5 aspectos determinantes de la SD teniendo como resultado que la sensibilidad es igual en aclaramiento casero y clínico, que los fármacos no son capaces de prevenir la SD a diferencia del previo uso de desensibilizantes; el mayor grado de sensibilidad registrado es el moderado y finalmente el tiempo en el que se observa mayor SD es 1 hora post-tratamiento aclarante. Conclusión: Debido a que el origen de la sensibilidad dental inducida por el tratamiento aclarante aún es desconocido no es posible determinar una prevalencia exacta, ya que podrían influir muchos factores.
Introduction: Dental bleaching is one of the most frequently performed procedures in dentistry nowadays due to the fact that there is increasing awareness of dental appearance, although this treatment improves esthetics and the quality of patients’ life, there are some side effects, being the most frequent tooth sensitivity, which is an unpleasant factor for the patient. Objective: To identify the prevalence of tooth sensitivity after bleaching treatment. Materials and methods: In the present study of a systematic review type, a search was carried out for RCT scientific articles using meta-search engines such as PubMed, Elsevier and Google Scholar. 31 articles were used for data collection, only those studies that were available in Spanish and English, published between the years 2000 – 2020, were selected. Results: Five determinant aspects of TS were analyzed resulting that the sensitivity is equal in home and clinical bleaching. that drugs are not able to prevent TS unlike the previous use of desensitizers; the highest grade of sensitivity recorded is the moderate one. Finally, the highest TS was observed after 1 hour of bleaching treatment. Conclusion: Due to the fact that the origin of tooth sensitivity induced by bleaching treatment is still unknown; it’s not possible to determine an exact prevalence since many factors could influence it.
