Esta investigación analiza el discurso periodístico utilizado por los diarios El Universo y El Comercio para referirse a la aprobación del matrimonio igualitario en Ecuador en el período de marzo a julio de 2019. Se ancla en los preceptos teórico – metodológicos del análisis crítico del discurso, sobre todo en los aportes de Van Dijk (2003) con relación al entendimiento del discurso como dimensión fundamental en los fenómenos socioculturales. El estudio es una aproximación a cómo los medios estudiados contribuyeron a la representación y fabricación de la realidad de sus lectores, creando o deslegitimando prejuicios. El trabajo devela el tratamiento dado al tema de la aprobación del matrimonio igualitario a través del examen de dimensiones como las características del discurso periodístico en la muestra analizada, los esquemas, y las estrategias semántico discursivas que reproducen ideologías, entre otros aspectos.
This investigation analizes the journalistic discourse used by El Universo and El Comercio newspaper in reference to the approval of equal marriage in Ecuador from march to july 2019. It is anchored in the theoric and methodological precepts of discourse analisys, especially from Van Dijk´s (2003) contributions regarding the understanding of the discourse as fundamental dimension in the sociocultural phenomena. The study is an approach to how the analized media contributed to the representation and fabrication of the reality of its readers, creating or delegitimizing prejudices. This works reveals the treatment given to the topic of equal marriage through the examination of the dimensions such as the features of the journalistic discourse in the sample that was analized, the schemes and semantic-discourse strategies that replicate ideologies, among other aspects.
