Through the study of Yachay Tech University, this work seeks to evaluate how effectively Ecuador has applied the Specialization in its competitive advantages when promoting Higher Education. In this analysis, Systemic Competitiveness is used as the main theory, which explains the importance of an economic model that Higher Education and its appropriate promotion. Following this logic, he studies the Yachay Tech case from the Michael Porter Diamond Model, which allows to evaluate the competitiveness of an institution based on four factors, supporting research with the comparison of that institution with other public ones. Showing that Yachay Tech is not attractive to students, neither is it based on the coherence between what Ecuador produces competitively, what the world demands from Ecuador, and the absence of careers focused on the country's competitiveness, the pretext of the Development of the Productive Matrix. It also shows the lack of competitiveness of this University in lack of coherence and policy of: their contacts and financial support. Finally, in terms of differentiation, Yachay Tech has wanted to take quantum leaps, without following a process that allows to legitimize what it seeks to be, a reference for research and infrastructure. The idea of this analysis is to verify how competitive Yachay Tech is, and if this was the not considered factor that has made it stagnate.
A través del caso de estudio de la Universidad Yachay Tech, este trabajo busca evaluar efectivamente si Ecuador ha aplicado la Especialización en sus ventajas competitivas a la hora de fomentar una Educación Superior. En este análisis se utiliza como teoría principal la Competitividad Sistémica, la cual explica la importancia de un modelo económico que incluya la Educación Superior y su promoción adecuada. Siguiendo esta lógica, se estudia el caso Yachay Tech a partir del Modelo Diamante de Michael Porter, que permite evaluar la competitividad de una institución en base a cuatro factores, sustentando la investigación con la comparación de dicha institución con otras públicas. Mostrando así, que Yachay Tech no es atractiva para los estudiantes, está basada en la falta de coherencia entre lo que el Ecuador produce competitivamente, lo que el Mundo demanda de Ecuador, y la ausencia de carreras enfocadas en la competitividad del país, bajo el pretexto del Desarrollo de la Matriz Productiva. También se muestra la ausencia de competitividad de esta Universidad en falta de coherencia y politización de: sus contactos y el apoyo financiero. Finalmente, en cuanto a la diferenciación, Yachay Tech, ha querido dar saltos cuánticos, sin seguir un proceso que permita legitimar lo que busca ser, un referente de investigación e infraestructura. La idea de este análisis es verificar qué tan competitiva es Yachay Tech, y si esto fue el factor no considerado que la ha hecho estancarse.
