Protocolo de atención odontológico para pacientes con hipertensión arterial que acuden a la Sede Colón

This Project was realized with the goal of improving the quality of attention that the students give to the patients diagnosed with arterial hypertension in the faculty of dentistry in the “Universidad de las Américas sede Colón”. To make this project, surveys were applied among the students coursing the subject of Clinic one, two and three, to evaluate their knowledge about the right attention they are supposed to give the patients with this condition; also a protocol of attention was proposed with the goal of having a complete guide for the students, so they can treat the patients with arterial hypertension. Analyzing the results of the surveys, the majority of the students it did not have the sufficient level of knowledge to treat efficiently the patients with arterial hypertension, this is why the protocol proposed is vital to make the level of attention improve and this way the patients that come to the dentistry consultation in the “Universidad de las Americas sede Colón” can be examined correctly in accordance of their condition.
El presente trabajo de titulación se realizó con el objetivo de mejorar la calidad de atención que se brinda a pacientes con hipertensión arterial en la facultad de odontología de la Universidad de las Américas sede Colón. Para realizar este trabajo se aplicó encuestas a los estudiantes que están cursando la materia de clínica uno, dos y tres, para evaluar su nivel de conocimiento acerca del correcto manejo de pacientes con esta condición; además se propuso realizar un protocolo de atención para que los estudiantes tengan una guía completa al momento de tratar con pacientes con hipertensión arterial. Al analizar los resultados de la encuesta se determinó que la mayoría de los estudiantes que participaron en el estudio no poseen el nivel de conocimiento suficiente para tratar eficientemente a pacientes con hipertensión arterial, por lo que el protocolo propuesto es vital para que el nivel de atención mejore y así los pacientes que acuden a la consulta odontológica de la Universidad de las Américas sede Colón sean atendidos satisfactoriamente de acuerdo a su condición.
