This multimedia report evolves around the celibacy problematic execution that exists inside the Roman Catholic Church. The investigation project pretends to demonstrate how catholic priests that has opted to be married and belong to catholic churches that are not precisely governed by the Vatican, such as the Iglesia Católica Apostólica Nacional (ICANDE) and the Iglesia Episcopal, Anglican Communion. As principles objectives an investigation was done to identify the changes and regulations respect to the celibacy that has being given in the Roman Catholic Church and their handling in Ecuador in the last few years. Additionally, to acknowledge the perspectives of representatives from different catholic cults, priests and congregation about the celibacy, and show narrations and cases about the priests that are married and live in the country. For that, interviews were made to representatives from each church, before mentioned, and also to married priests and their wife is that belong to these churches. On the other hand, experts and clinical psychologists were consulted to obtain more significant material about the consequences and effects that happens when people have a celibate life, otherwise a theologian was consulted to deepen about the origins of this so called celibacy theory. It can be said that, the investigation of this human law and not divine, as the celibacy, takes the Catholic Church to a separation, and in some cases priests have to live a double life.
Este reportaje multimedia gira entorno a la problemática que existe sobre el celibato y su ejecución dentro de la Iglesia Católica Romana. El proyecto de investigación pretende demostrar de qué forma viven los sacerdotes católicos que han optado por contraer matrimonio y pertenecer a iglesias católicas que no son precisamente regidas por el Vaticano, tales como la Iglesia Católica Apostólica Nacional (ICANDE) y la Iglesia Episcopal, comunión anglicana. Como principales objetivos se planteó identificar los cambios y regulaciones con respecto al celibato que se han dado en la Iglesia Católica Romana y su manejo en Ecuador en los últimos años. Además, de conocer las perspectivas de representantes de diferentes cultos católicos, sacerdotes y feligreses sobre el celibato y mostrar casos e historias de sacerdotes casados que viven en el país. Para ello, se realizaron entrevistas a representantes de cada una de las iglesias antes mencionadas, y a su vez, a sacerdotes casados y esposas quienes pertenecen a estas iglesias. Por otro lado, también se consultó a expertos como psicólogos clínicos para poder obtener información sustancial sobre consecuencias y efectos que existen al mantener una vida célibe, así como también se consultó a un teólogo para profundizar sobre el origen de esta llamada ley del celibato. A lo largo de la investigación, se realizó un acercamiento con los sacerdotes casados y sus familias, y así de esta forma saber cuáles son los problemas que enfrentan por optar al celibato como una opción. Por otro lado, se pudo constatar que sacerdotes pertenecientes a la Iglesia Católica Romana contradicen el concepto del celibato que practican; se pudo comprobar que algunos de ellos tienen demandas por pensiones de alimentos, y casos que involucran a la familia. Se puede decir, que la investigación de esta ley humana y no divina como el celibato, lleva a la Iglesia Católica a una separación, y en ciertos casos a los sacerdotes a vivir una doble vida.
