Description

The possibility to extract and export oil has become, in recent decades, a priority for the Ecuadorian State since it constitutes the main source of income to meet the different necessities that its population has. For a long time the exportation of oil was limiting since the transport capacity of the oil from the Amazon to the Ecuadorian Coast was restricted, due to the fact there was only one pipeline. In that sense there was the need to build and additional one to transport heavy oil which especially helped in two items: a) a greater transport capacity, and b) preventing the mixture between light and heavy oil which affected in its price. After overcoming some political, economic and legal obstacles it was authorized for the private company to construct a heavy oil pipeline, which became a memorable event in oil history of Ecuador...
La posibilidad de extraer y exportar la mayor cantidad de petróleo se ha constituido, en las últimas décadas, en una prioridad para el Estado ecuatoriano ya que se constituye en la principal fuente de ingresos para satisfacer las distintas necesidades que tiene la población. Durante mucho tiempo la exportación del crudo que se extraía tenía un limitante ya que la capacidad de transporte del crudo desde la Amazonía hasta la costa ecuatoriana era restringida, ya que se contaba únicamente con un oleoducto; en ese sentido se vio la necesidad de construir uno adicional que se encargue del transporte de crudo pesado lo que ayudaría especialmente en dos temas: a) mayor capacidad de transporte, b) evitar la mezcla entre crudo liviano y pesado lo que afectaba también en el precio del mismo...
