Today it has emerged the need to seek different treatment options to reduce the consumption of drugs, and found an option on medicinal plants, so it is set to conduct an investigation to determine whether the extract of Aloe Vera presents antifungal action on strains of Candida Albicans. Samples were taken to geriatric patients wearing full upper denture showing signs of denture stomatitis, the same he underwent a microbiological culture palatal to demonstrate the presence or absence of Candida Albicans. Aloe Vera plant was used to obtain the extract, then the plant with 60 percent ethanol was macerated for 10 days and the mixture was filtered and mixed with propelinglicol to obtain the extract, by the method of Kirby Bauer, in vitro study, to check the degree of sensitivity with strains of Candida Albicans to Aloe Vera. Of which, the results of the investigation were negative, indicating that Aloe Vera has no antifungal properties on Candida Albicans, as and pula of aloe vera no antifungal activity, and if you want to use, you must I use accompanied by a medicine that has antifungal properties.
Hoy en día ha surgido la necesidad de buscar diferentes alternativas terapéuticas, para reducir el consumo de los fármacos, y se ha encontrado una opción en las plantas medicinales, por lo que se establece realizar una investigación para poder determinar si el extracto de Aloe Vera presenta una acción antifúngica sobre las cepas de Candida Albicans. Las muestras fueron tomadas a pacientes geriátricos portadores de prótesis total superior que presenten signos de estomatitis subprotésica, a los mismos se les realizó un cultivo microbiológico palatino para demostrar la presencia o no de Candida Albicans. Para la obtención del extracto se utilizó planta de Aloe Vera, posteriormente se macero la planta con etanol al 60 por ciento durante 10 días y esa mezcla fue filtrada y mezclada con propelinglicol para obtener el extracto, mediante el método de Kirby Bauer, estudio in vitro, para comprobar el grado de sensibilidad que tienen las cepas de Candida Albicans al Aloe Vera. De lo cual, los resultados obtenidos de la investigación fueron negativos, lo que indico que el Aloe Vera no tiene propiedades antifúngicas sobre la Candida Albicans, puesto que la pulpa de Aloe Vera no presenta actividad antifúngica, y si se desea utilizar, debe estar acompañado de un medicamento que tenga propiedades antimicóticas.
