The parents are the first contact that the child has when he is born, because they are the ones who have the first experiences to fully develop, nevertheless, within these, it is the social area that allows him to acquire skills and skills necessary to form his personality. These behavioral models that the child learns through his parents are influenced by the parenting practices that have them. According to the Education Curriculum (2014) on the personal and social axis and the Portage Guide (1972) describes a number of social skills that children at the age of 4 to 5 should already have acquired. Therefore, the present study has as its theme: "Parental styles and their influence on the personal and social development axis of the initial education curriculum in children aged 4 to 5 years in a private children's center in the city of Quito". The main objective of this research is to analyze how parental styles influence the personal and social development axis of the initial education curriculum in children from 4 to 5 years old. A qualitative approach with an exploratory scope has been chosen. The tools used were, the non-participant observation of 10 children from 4 to 5 years in a private children's center in the city of Quito and surveys of their parents, with the aim of demonstrating the skills developed in the social field, and knowing the style. Finally, an interview was conducted with a clinical psychologist to obtain another point of view about the parental styles. After a careful analysis of the results, it was found that there is a relationship between family styles and the personal and social development of the| child, highlighting the democratic parental style as the one that has the greatest influence on the development of skills in children.
Los padres son el primer contacto que el niño tiene cuando nace, pues son quienes le proporcionan sus primeras experiencias para desarrollarse integralmente, no obstante, dentro de estas, es el área social la que le permitirá adquirir habilidades y destrezas necesarias para formar su personalidad, lo que el niño aprenda por medio de sus padres se verá influenciado por las prácticas de crianza que tengan los mismos. Según el Currículo de Educación (2014) que detalla varias destrezas en el ámbito personal y social, y la Guía Portage (1972) que describe, un número de habilidades sociales que los niños a la edad de 4 a 5 años, ya deben haber adquirido. Por lo cual, el presente estudio tiene como tema: “Los estilos parentales y su influencia en el eje de desarrollo personal y social del currículo de educación inicial en los niños de 4 a 5 años en un Centro Infantil privado de la ciudad de Quito”. Esta investigación tiene como objetivo principal analizar cómo los estilos parentales influyen en la identidad, autonomía y convivencia en los niños de 4 a 5. Se ha escogido un enfoque cualitativo con un alcance tipo exploratorio. Las herramientas utilizadas fueron, la observación no participante a 10 niños de 4 a 5 años en un Centro Infantil privado de la ciudad de Quito y encuestas a sus padres, con el objetivo de evidenciar las destrezas desarrolladas en el ámbito social, y conocer el estilo parental que llevan en casa y aplican con sus hijos, respectivamente. Finalmente, se realizó una entrevista a una psicóloga clínica para obtener otro punto de vista sobre los estilos parentales. Posteriormente se hizo un análisis detenido de los resultados, se obtuvo como conclusión que, si existe relación entre los estilos parentales y el desarrollo personal y social del niño, destacándose el estilo parental democrático como el que mejor influencia tiene en el desarrollo de destrezas en los ámbitos de convivencia e identidad y autonomía.
