In conducting this investigation, a sample of 20 children with Down syndrome, who met the criteria for inclusion in the study was taken. Materials and Methods: The information in this study was obtained in 4 weeks, the first index plate O'Leary to know how was the oral hygiene of children and they gave a presentation on oral hygiene and food was made you should eat for good oral health, they were divided into two random groups and were taught two techniques of brushing the first group technique from red to white and the second horizontal technical and were given to each child your toothbrush. The second week was made a reinforcement of brushing techniques, making brushing the two groups, resolving any concerns have been among children with Down syndrome. He waited one week and the fourth week a new index O'Leary was done to see if the children understood how to use the different techniques of brushing and reduced their plaque index.
En la realización de esta investigación, se tomó una muestra de 20 niños con Síndrome de Down, que cumplían los criterios de inclusión dentro del estudio. Materiales y método: La información de este estudio, se obtuvo en 4 semanas, en la primera se realizó el índice de placa de O’ Leary para saber cómo era la higiene oral de los niños y se les impartió una presentación sobre higiene oral y alimentos que se debe ingerir para una buena salud oral, se les dividió en dos grupos aleatoriamente y se les enseño dos técnicas de cepillado al primer grupo la técnica del rojo al blanco y al segundo la técnica horizontal y se les entregó a cada niño su cepillo dental. La segunda semana se le hizo un refuerzo de las técnicas de cepillado, haciéndoles cepillarse los dientes a los dos grupos, resolviendo cualquier inquietud que haya quedado entre los niños con Síndrome de Down. Se esperó una semana y a la cuarta semana se realizó un nuevo índice de O’Leary para ver si los niños entendieron como usar las diferentes técnicas de cepillado y redujeron su índice de placa
