Description

The Colonial Town of Quito, besides being known for its architecture from the colonial era; is a site with high levels of trade and tourism. According to the Yearbook of entrances and exits to the city 703.015 visitors entered, daily flow is 60 to 100 people converging on the Historic Center. This project aims to redesign a cafeteria for city dwellers, creating a display area to show the culture of the city in images, articles or works of art, where people while waiting to be attended can interact with the galleries. Keeping their spaces and old materials, will highlight the type of housing; emphasizing the characteristics of a typical “quiteña” century house, and establish a harmonious and warm place to the cafeteria which tells the story through the interior architecture. Being located in a historic area preserves its tradition; the design is aim is to benefit people by allowing them to learn their culture, plastic and culinary art.
El Casco Colonial de Quito, además de ser conocido por su arquitectura desde la época colonial; es un sitio con alto nivel de comercio y turismo. De acuerdo al Anuario de Entradas y Salidas a la ciudad ingresaron 703.015 visitantes, diariamente se encuentra un flujo de 60 a 100 personas que convergen en el Centro Histórico. Este proyecto aspira rediseñar una cafetería para los citadinos, al crear un área de exhibición y mostrar la cultura de la ciudad en imágenes, artículos y obras de arte, donde la gente mientras espera ser atendido pueda interactuar en las galerías. Al conservar sus espacios y materiales antiguos, van a resaltar la tipología de vivienda; destacando las características de una casa típica quiteña del siglo, instaurar un lugar armonioso y cálido a la cafetería la que relate la historia a través de la arquitectura interior. Al estar situado en un área histórica permite conservar su tradición, el diseño tiene como fin, beneficiar a las personas mediante el aprendizaje de su cultura, arte plástico y culinario.
