Caniterapia is complementary therapy of a dogs that has been held mainly to people with special needs and patients with cancer. Based in the “Consejo Nacional de Discapacidades del Ecuador” registers, it was possible to know the specific number of children with special needs and cancer (60.148 children), some of this children have not had the opportunity to take this kind of therapy because of some limiting factors such as, lack of knowledge, lack of money, or just because they do not have this kind of therapy in the place where they live. At the same time was possible to figure it out that there are only five legal centers around Ecuador which have provided this services to the patients from 2007 to 2012 with a total of 1.170 patients...
La Caniterapia es una terapia complementaria mediada por canes que se realiza principalmente a personas con capacidades especiales y pacientes con cáncer. Mediante el Consejo Nacional de Discapacidades del Ecuador se pudo estimar la población total de niños con capacidades especiales y cáncer (60.148 niños) muchos de estos niños no han sido sometidos a este tipo de terapia por algunos limitantes como el miedo al contacto con canes, falta de conocimiento, falta de recursos o porque simplemente no existe la terapia en el lugar donde viven. En base a esto se pudo determinar que son tan solo cinco centros a nivel nacional que están habilitados para realizar Caniterapia en los cuales, dentro del período 2007 – 2012 se ha tratado un total de 1.170 pacientes...
