At a national level, neonatal sepsis is one of the causes of morbidity and even infant mortality, this is due to the fact that within some cities of Ecuador, no investigative processes have been carried out that seek to establish the causes that led to neonatal sepsis. which research was proposed: Maternal risk factors related to early neonatal sepsis at the Alfredo Noboa Montenegro Hospital during the period 2016-2018 with the aim of: determining maternal risk factors related to early neonatal sepsis in patients admitted to the neonatology area, thus being able to raise awareness of the most influential factors and determine recommendations to reduce the levels of neonatal sepsis in the Alfredo Noboa Montenegro Hospital. The investigative process was considered to be descriptive, since through the analysis of contents we know: the characteristics of the mothers, obstetric history, history of the neonates, all with the purpose of listing the main risk factors that have been the cause of neonatal sepsis in children of neonatology of the Hospital taken for the study, in order to contribute to the authorities of the health house and can take measures that seek to improve this reality, the investigation has allowed to determine that there are mothers of children who have suffered neonatal sepsis between the ages of 15 and 45 years, who have a high school education level in their majority, who have waited from 1 to 3 years before getting pregnant, unfortunately there is a group of people who do not normally attend the controls assigned prenatal care, which is why some of these children have been born with a nutritional status in which malnutrition and obesity are what constitute a risk for early sepsis, in addition to the fact that mothers have suffered infections: vaginal, urinary tract and respiratory tract constituting the most influential causes for cases of sepsis. Given the findings, there is evidence of a lack of knowledge of mothers on issues such as the importance of prenatal check-ups, proper clothing, personal hygiene, among other aspects that may increase the risk of neonatal sepsis.
A nivel nacional la sepsis neonatal es una de las causas de morbilidad e incluso mortalidad infantil, esto debido a que dentro de algunas ciudades del Ecuador no se han llevado a cabo procesos investigativos que busquen establecer las causas que propiciaron se genere sepsis neonatal, razón por la cual se planteó la investigación: Factores de riesgo materno relacionado a sepsis neonatal temprana en el Hospital Alfredo Noboa Montenegro durante el periodo 2016-2018 con el objetivo de determinar factores de riesgo materno relacionado a sepsis neonatal temprana en pacientes ingresados al área de neonatología, pudiendo así dar a conocer los factores de mayor influencia y determinar recomendaciones que permita disminuir los niveles de sepsis neonatal en el Hospital Alfredo Noboa Montenegro. El proceso investigativo se consideró de tipo descriptivo ya que por medio del análisis de contenidos se conocen: las características de las madres, antecedentes obstétricos, historial de los neonatos todo esto con la finalidad de enlistar los principales factores de riesgo que han sido los causantes de sepsis neonatal en los pacientes ingresados en la sala de neonatología dentro del hospital tomado para el estudio, para de este modo contribuir con las autoridades de la casa de salud y puedan tomar medidas que busquen mejorar esta realidad, la investigación ha permitido determinar que existen madres de menores que han padecido sepsis neonatal entre las edades de 15 a 45 años, quienes tienen un nivel de instrucción secundaria en su mayoría, con periodo intergenésico entre 1 a 3 años, lamentablemente existe un grupo de personas que no asisten normalmente a los controles prenatales asignados, razón por la cual algunos de estos menores han nacido con un estado nutricional en el que presentan desnutrición y obesidad lo que se constituye en un riesgo para sepsis temprana a esto se suma el que las madres hayan padecido infecciones: vaginales, de las vías urinarias y el tracto respiratorio constituyéndose en las causas principales para que existan casos de sepsis. Ante los hallazgos se evidencia cierto desconocimiento de las madres en temas como: importancia de los controles prenatales, uso de ropa interior adecuada, higiene personal entre otros aspectos que pueden incrementar el riesgo de que se presente sepsis neonatal.
