The Ethnographic Study of the Hieleros del Chimborazo, as a dynamic element for the tourist development of the Ancestral Way of Sara Kapak Ñan, Quindihua Central community, Guaranda canton, Bolívar Province, was carried out with the objective of characterizing the characters of the community that are dedicated to the activity of extracting the ice in the Chimborazo, and to detail the scene where the activity takes place. As a result of the research, the necessary information was obtained from the community of Quindihua Central to capture it in the final report, thanks to the support provided by the inhabitants, important data were obtained such as: the characterization of the characters that were engaged in obtaining ice, (economic activity, ways of dressing, materials and tools, source, transport, diseases, uses, price.), the detail of the scene where the ice-cream activity takes place, (origin of the community, organization, ways of life, cycles of life, economic activity, ancestral knowledge, festivities.) In order to obtain the first objective, the characterization of the characters that are dedicated to the ice extraction of the community of Quindihua Central, interviews were carried out with the six ice-builders gathering information about their way of life, economic activity, their way of dressing, tools and materials used for this trade, with this information allowed us to make a characterization sheet of each of them. To detail the scene where the activity takes place, interviews were applied to the community leaders, with direct observation at the site, and the questionnaire, obtaining information on their modes and life cycles, economic activity, ancestral knowledge, festivities, music, daza, beliefs. The production of a documentary based on the ethnographic study of the Hieleros de Bolívar, a tour of the route was made; the process of ice extraction was demonstrated. El Estudio Etnográfico de los Hieleros del Chimborazo, como elemento dinamizador para el desarrollo turístico del Camino Ancestral del Sara Kapak Ñan, comunidad Quindihua Central, cantón Guaranda, Provincia Bolívar, se realizó con el objetivo de caracterizar a los personajes de la comunidad que se dedicaban a la actividad de extracción del hielo en el Chimborazo, y detallar la escena donde se desarrolla la actividad. Como resultado de la investigación se obtuvo la información necesaria de la comunidad de Quindihua Central para plasmarla en el informe final, gracias al apoyo brindado por los habitantes se obtuvo datos importantes como: la caracterización de los personajes que se dedicaban a la obtención del hielo, (actividad económica, formas de vestir, materiales y herramientas, transporte, enfermedades, usos, precio), el detalle de la escena donde se desarrolla la actividad hielera, (origen de la comunidad, organización, modos de vida, ciclos de vida, actividad económica, conocimientos ancestrales, festividades.) Para la obtención del primer objetivo, la caracterización a los personajes que se dedican a la extracción de hielo de la comunidad de Quindihua Central, se realizó entrevistas a los seis hieleros recopilando información de su forma de vida, actividad económica, forma de vestir, herramientas y materiales que se utilizaba, con esta información nos permitió realizar una ficha de caracterización de cada uno de ellos. Para detallar la escena donde se desarrolla la actividad, se aplicó entrevistas a los líderes comunitarios, con una observación directa en el lugar, y el cuestionario, obteniendo información de sus modos y ciclos de vida, actividad económica, conocimientos ancestrales, festividades, música, daza, creencias. La producción de un documental basado en el estudio etnográfico de los Hieleros de Bolívar, se realizó un recorrido por la ruta, se demostró el proceso de la extracción del hielo.
