El cultivo de fréjol es considerado como un producto básico y estratégico para el desarrollo rural de los países, ocupando el segundo lugar a nivel mundial, por su contenido de proteínas e hidratos de carbono, además contribuye a la fijación de nitrógeno al suelo. Este ensayo se realizó en el recinto la Pesquería del Cantón San Miguel a una altitud de 2400 m.s.n.m, en suelo Franco arcilloso y 610.8 mm de precipitación durante todo el ciclo del cultivo. Se evaluaron siete accesiones de fréjol voluble en unicultivo (espaldera). La fecha que se realizó la siembra fue el 25 de marzo del 2011; la cual se la hizo en labranza reducida en rotación después de un cultivo asociado de maíz frejol. Se utilizó un diseño de bloques completos al azar. Se realizaron análisis de varianza, prueba de Tukey al 5%, análisis de correlación y regresión lineal y evaluaciones participativas en formación de vainas y en poscosecha y menestras. Los resultados más relevantes fueron para tierno se seleccionó a la accesión T1; buena carga de vainas, (grandes, sanas y gruesas), es tolerante a enfermedades. Para seco la mayor aceptabilidad fue para la accesión T3 por el color rojo brillante, grano grueso y bien comercial y la accesión I-426 Canario por color amarillo del grano, tolerante a enfermedades foliares y de buena aceptabilidad en el mercado. Finalmente con esta investigación permitió seleccionar accesiones de fréjol voluble superior al testigo local fréjol canario, que es tardío y muy agresivo para asocio con el maíz

For dry the biggest acceptability was for the line T3 for the brilliant red color, I seed thick and very commercial and cultivating I-426 Canary for yellow color of the grain, tolerant to illnesses foliares and of good acceptability in the market. Finally with this investigation it allowed to select germoplasma of fréjol inconstant superior to the witness local fréjol canary that is late and very aggressive for I associate with the corn
