This research project aims to be an aid for the creation of emergency plans within the Madre Tierra Parish in Mera canton, Pastaza province. It seeks to identify which are the most susceptible areas to flooding due to the overflow of the Pastaza River. For this, the HEC-RAS software application of the United States Army Corps of Engineers has been used, which together with ArcMap allowed us to create the geometry of the terrain to be studied. Identifying the eminent danger of overflows in the studied area. These results could be obtained thanks to the study of hydraulic parameters, by applying the aforementioned software. As it has been carried out with SIG technology, we have better visualizations of the results thanks to the georeferenced thematic maps and thus be able to have a comprehensive vision of reality.
El presente proyecto de investigación pretende ser una ayuda para la creación de planes de emergencia dentro de la parroquia Madre Tierra en el cantón Mera en la provincia de Pastaza, se busca identificar cuáles son las zonas más susceptibles a inundaciones por el desbordamiento del río Pastaza, para esto se ha utilizado la aplicación del software HEC-RAS del cuerpo de Ingenieros de la Armada de los estados unidos, el cual junto con ArcMap nos permitió crear la geometría del terreno a estudiar, identificando el eminente peligro de desbordes en la zona estudiada ,estos resultados se los pudo obtener gracias al estudio de los parámetros hidráulicos, mediante la aplicación del software ya mencionado, al haber sido realizado con la tecnología SIG tenemos mejores visualizaciones de los resultados gracias a los mapas temáticos georefenciados y así poder tener una visión integral dela realidad.
