At present, one of the problems faced by financial institutions, especially savings and credit cooperatives in Ecuador, is the behavior of past-due loans. Due to the economic situation that the country is going through, they have experienced accelerated growth and in many cases suffering illiquidity, which has led to the closure of institutions. The research work called "Overdue Portfolio and its impact on the financial management of the Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito Cámara de Comercio de Ambato Guaranda agency 2016", has great importance due to the fact that there are portfolio indexes, which produce difficulties at the end of each month when making the monthly closing, with this research is aimed at minimizing the portfolio risk that is a latent problem in the cooperative due to several factors that are not considered in a reasonable way. In order to carry out the research, it was essential to make studies of fundamental procedures in the financial economic aspect of the cooperative to know the parameters used in the capture of investment policies, as well as in the granting of loans. Through a field study conducted on the spot, it was possible to know the flexibility at the moment of giving a credit and also the real situation of the client, for which interviews were applied to the head of agency, loan officer and collection surveys aimed at customers who have overdue credits. The results obtained in the investigation contribute to the knowledge of the causes and effects of past-due portfolio; based on this, it was possible to conclude the importance of carrying out an analysis of debtors with guarantors and a strict monitoring of loans in order to know their use and the results generated by the same in order to obtain a high degree of credit security.
la actualidad uno de los problemas que tienen las entidades financieras especialmente las Cooperativas de Ahorro y Crédito en el Ecuador es el comportamiento de cartera vencida, debido a la situación económica que está atravesando el país han tenido un crecimiento acelerado y en muchos de los casos sufriendo iliquidez que ha provocado el cierre de las entidades. El trabajo de investigación denominado “Cartera vencida y su impacto en la administración financiera de la Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito Cámara de Comercio de Ambato agencia Guaranda año 2016”, tiene gran importancia debido a que existe índices de cartera, los mismos que producen dificultades cada fin de mes al realizar el cierre mensual, con esta investigación se apunta a minimizar el riesgo de cartera, que es un problema latente en la cooperativa debido a varios factores que no considerados de manera razonable. Para realizar la investigación fue imprescindible hacer estudios de procedimientos fundamentales en el aspecto económico financiero de la cooperativa para conocer los parámetros utilizados en la captación de pólizas de inversión, así como en el otorgamiento de créditos. Mediante un estudio de campo realizado en el lugar de los hechos se logró conocer la flexibilidad al momento de dar un crédito e igualmente la situación real del cliente para lo cual se aplicó entrevistas al jefe de agencia, oficial de créditos y cobranza encuestas dirigidas a los clientes que tienen créditos vencidos. Los resultados obtenidos en la investigación contribuyen a conocer las causas y efectos de cartera vencida; en base a esto se logró concluir la importancia de realizar un análisis tanto a deudores con garantes y un estricto seguimiento a los créditos para conocer su utilización y los resultados generados por el mismo para obtener un alto grado de seguridad crediticia.
