Adaptacion de la arquitectura al entorno: Centro de la Investigación Marina

Description: Supported by the evolutionary theory of the species adaptation to fit into the environment in which they live, the “Institute for Marine Research” located in San Cristobal Island, in the Galapagos Archipelago, is created with architectural characteristics based in the place where it settles, adapting to it. Any type of intervention, in the delicate and natural environment of the Galapagos Islands, must consider the protection and respect of the marine and terrestrial ecosystems to provoke the minimal impact on them. Therefore, instead of imposing a type of architecture on the place, architecture must adapt itself to the place it settles.
Apoyado en la teoría evolutiva de la adaptación de las especies al medio en el que viven, el “Centro de Investigación Marina” ubicado en la Isla San Cristóbal, en el Archipiélago de Galápagos, está creado con características arquitectónicas que responden al lugar donde se implanta, adaptándose a este. Las Islas Galápagos son un frágil entorno natural que debe ser respetado y protegido en el momento de una intervención, para causar el mínimo impacto ambiental en los ecosistemas marino y terrestre. Por lo tanto, se propone que en lugar de imponer una arquitectura al lugar, esta debe adaptarse al sitio en el que va a implantarse.
