Description

This project is focused in the construction and design of three Formula’s SAE components. The first component is the chassis which was designed and built according to SAE’s 2013 restrictions. The second component is suspension consisting of the upper and lower arms. The third component is the tire anchorage. All the materials that were used in the assembly of the Project with exception of the ball joints were selected and found in local dealers. Every material chosen deserved a detailed selection focused in the use, mechanical properties and accuracy. The design section describes all aspects to determine every component geometries for manufacturing, such as: ball joints, steering knuckle, etc. The static and dynamic analyses are important in this section, too.
Esta tesis está enfocada en el diseño y construcción de tres conjuntos del Fórmula SAE-USFQ. El primer conjunto es el diseño y construcción del chasis, el mismo que se realizó de acuerdo a las reglas del Manual SAE 2013. El segundo conjunto es el diseño y construcción de las mesas de suspensión. Por último, el tercer componente es el anclaje de ruedas. Todos los materiales que se usan en la construcción de los distintos componentes, con excepción de los terminales o ball joints, son asequibles en el mercado nacional. Los criterios de selección se detallan en cada sección pertinente del documento. Se requirió de la construcción de herramientas específicas, por ejemplo para el desbaste de los tubos del chasis.
