Description

This project has as an entry to understand what is the concept of a cultural center and how this attracts all different type of people. By taking in account this aspect, it tries to create different sensations and at the same time to be conformable, monumental and have characteristics of a public building that would be a symbol of the city. The location of the plot is a little conflictive in terms of access and relation to the city because it is located at a corner and by having an important park in front as “La Carolina”, with this influence an imposing proposal is generated in the corner, situating a great orthogonal volume. It generates an important plot according to its dimensions and form giving a complete fullfillness of it that is compensated with the emptiness and opening towards the city and the park.
El proyecto tiene como partida entender el concepto de un centro cultural y como este atrae a todo tipo de personas. Al tomar en cuenta este aspecto se busca generar espacios que den distintas sensaciones y que a su vez sean confortables, monumentales y característicos de un edifico público que pasaría a ser un símbolo de la ciudad. La ubicación del lote es un poco conflictiva en cuanto a ingresos y relaciones con la ciudad por ser esquinero y tener un parque tan importante como el parque “La Carolina” en frente, con estas influencias se genera una propuesta imponente sobre la esquina, situando un gran volumen ortogonal el cual por sus dimensiones y forma generan un gran lleno en el lote el que se ve compensado con un vacio y apertura hacia la ciudad y el parque.
