Hábitat tercera edad: aspectos de sustentabilidad en un enterno urbano

Description: This project was designed to face two of the most distressing realities in the city of Quito. After an exhaustive analysis of the needs of the community of elderly, compared to the facilities this group of people have when they reach this stage of their lives, we have come to the conclusion that the quality of life of this population sector is very low. This alarming fact not only defines us as people, but also as a community and especially as a country. The purpose of the project is to establish the elderly as the basis of the social pyramid of our community, by giving them an important place in society, recognizing their hard work throughout a life.
El presente trabajo pretende ocuparse de dos realidades que afectan y preocupan a la ciudad de Quito. Después de un análisis exhaustivo sobre las necesidades de la comunidad de jubilados de ésta y tras cotejarla y evaluarla frente a la oferta de servicios que estos miembros de la sociedad reciben al llegar a la tercera edad, hemos concluido que la calidad de vida que tiene este sector de la población es sumamente deficiente y que esto en cierta forma nos define como personas, como sociedad y como país. El proyecto busca establecer a los hombres y mujeres de la tercera edad como base fundamental de la pirámide social de nuestra comunidad, otorgándoles un lugar de importancia y respeto por su vida de servicio a la misma.
