The project searches to find the relationship between the place and architecture in its fisical and social context, based on the study of Critical Regionalism and its philosophical origins. Heidegger, philosopher of big influence in architectural theory, writes his essays about architecture like “Building, Dwelling, Thinking” or “The Thing”, were he refers to the relationship object/thing with its environment in the world; and his book “Being and Time” were he relates the main being of man with the world that sorrounds him. After I continue studing the Critical Regionalism tendency, where the main idea is exposed as how should architecture relate with the universal and the regional, in a way of resistance. Starting from those parameters I found a very particular situation in the town of Chunchi-Chimborazo were exists a colflict between the being of the community, with the place and globalization. Analizing the social, economical, and intelectual situation, we reach to propose a project were the place can convert, joined with architecture, in a facilitator and regenerator of the society and the town. I think that a proposal of a program, based on the relationship of the attributions of the zone, can be a creator of possibilities for its dwellers. The Hotel and the Bike Park search to be the reason for what the town begins its regeneration.
El proyecto busca encontrar la relación de la arquitectura con el lugar en su contexto físico y social, a partir del estudio del Regionalismo Arquitectónico y sus orígenes filosóficos. Heidegger, filósofo de gran influencia arquitectónica comienza marcando la pauta con la escritura de sus ensayos sobre Arquitectura como: “Construir, Habitar, Pensar” o “TheThing” en donde se refiere a la relación del objeto/cosa con su entorno en el mundo; y su libro “Ser y Tiempo” donde relaciona al hombre en sí dentro de el entorno que le rodea. Continuamente estudiamos a la corriente Regionalista Crítica donde se plantea la idea principal de cómo se debería relacionar la arquitectura con lo universal y lo regional, en modo de resistencia. A partir de estos parámetros encontramos una situación en el pueblo de Chunchi donde existe un conflicto entre el ser de la comunidad, con el sitio, y la globalización. Analizando la situación social, económica, intelectual y otras, de Chunchi, resolvemos plantear un proyecto en el que el Lugar se pueda convertir, conjuntamente con la arquitectura, en un facilitador y regenerador de la sociedad y el pueblo. Creemos en que el planteamieto de un programa base en relación a las atribuciones de la zona puede ser un creador de posibilidades para sus habitantes. El Hotel y Parque de Bicicletas busca ser la razón para que el pueblo comienze a regenerarse.
