Political history in Ecuador has experienced many variations on the development on a day-to-day basis. The constant search of political representation has become a problem on the electoral platform, since it has become the escape door for political parties and later on, for political movements. However, both of them have the same objective, which is to democratically represent the electoral scenario. This research paper approaches the identification of political parties and movements, their differences and similarities. Our research question is achieved through a descriptive and conceptual analysis over the historic portrait and case studies. Based on the research, we have observed that either movements or parties have the same actions and procedures in political campaigns. Therefore their general structure does not present major differences in political applications.
La historia política del Ecuador, tiene muchas variantes en su cotidiano desenvolvimiento. La búsqueda de representatividad política ha sido un agravante en el quehacer electoral, pues ha dado como puerta de escape la instauración inicial de partidos políticos y posteriormente de movimientos políticos. Ambos con el mismo objetivo: representar democráticamente en el escenario electoral. En el presente trabajo de investigación, se planteó identificar la existencia de diferencias entre los partidos y movimientos políticos ecuatorianos, empleando un análisis conceptual y descriptivo, mediante la semblanza histórica y el estudio de casos en el contexto político. Basado en la investigación, fundamentalmente se observó que tanto partidos como movimientos tienen el mismo accionar cuando compiten en elecciones. Por lo tanto, en la práctica, movimientos y partidos no ostentan diferencias significativas en el ejercicio político.
