This work attempts to analyze the changes that have occurred in the Ecuadorian fishing sector since the dollarization that was implemented in this country in the year 2000. To understand fully the impact of the changeover, we must first analyze the factors that led the country to change its monetary policy, how the dollar was finally implemented and the impact such process has had. At the same time, we will get to know about the Ecuadorian fishing sector, the different factors that are involved and how they operate in the country. Subsequently, two analyses will be made to understand the impact that this process has had. The first of them will be focused in the economic, political, social and technological factors; while the second one will analyze the strengths, opportunities, weaknesses and threats that the fishing sector in facing nowadays.
En este trabajo de titulación se busca analizar los cambios que se han dado en el sector pesquero ecuatoriano a partir de la dolarización que se implemento en el Ecuador en el año 2000. Para poder entender a fondo los impactos del cambio de moneda, se debe de primero analizar los factores que llevaron al país a cambiar su sistema monetario, como se implemento el dólar y los impactos que ha tenido el mismo. Al mismo tiempo, se conocerá sobre el sector pesquero ecuatoriano, los diferentes factores involucrados y su funcionamiento en el país. Posteriormente, se realizarán dos análisis para ver el impacto que ha tenido dicho proceso. El primero de ellos se enfocara en los factores económicos, políticos, sociales y tecnológicos; mientras que el segundo en las fortalezas, oportunidades, debilidades y amenazas que esta enfrentando actualmente el sector pesquero.
