Los sistemas de alarmas son elementos que permiten disuadir a un potencial intruso y alarmar sobre una situación anormal, que ponga en peligro la seguridad del lugar en donde estos sistemas se encuentren instalados; Con ayuda de los diferentes medios de comunicación es posible monitorear diversos elementos de detección, y aunque el medio más utilizado inicialmente fue la red de telefonía fija, hoy la red de telefonía móvil, es una herramienta útil para este tipo de proyectos, debido a su gran cobertura, puesto que hace posible obtener información en tiempo real de los elementos de detección. El sistema de monitoreo desarrollado está compuesto por una central de alarma que es la encargada de detectar cualquier actividad o situación de riesgo en una vivienda, y enviar la información de detección de los sensor mediante un mensaje de texto a través de la red GSM hasta una central de monitoreo, donde dicha información es receptada y mostrada a través de una página web para facilitar la interpretación y visualización de los eventos. ABSTRACT The alarm systems are elements that allow to deter a potential intruder and alarm about an abnormal situation that endangers the security of the place where these systems are installed; With the help of different means of communication, it is possible to monitor different detection elements, and although the most used medium was initially the fixed telephone network, today the mobile telephone network is a useful tool for this type of project, due to its great coverage, since it makes it possible to obtain information in real time from the detection elements. The monitoring system developed is composed of a central alarm that is responsible for detecting any activity or risk situation in a home, and send sensor detection information via a text message through the GSM network to a central monitoring, where said information is received and displayed through a web page to facilitate the interpretation and visualization of events. As a result there is a surveillance system, with which it is possible to keep security in a home
