El presente trabajo investigativo desarrolla aspectos importantes de los beneficios de la aplicación de sonoforesis en el tratamiento fisioterapéutico de osteoartritis en manos de pacientes geriátricos del Hogar Sagrado Corazón de Jesús de la ciudad de Ambato. Se estudió la esencia del problema a investigar en una población de 25 pacientes adultos mayores los cuales se les aplico la técnica de sonoforesis , se realizaron evaluaciones mediante escalas, la escala de EVA se utilizó para medir el grado de dolor, para medir el índice de funcionalidad de la mano se aplicó la escala de Dreiser y finalmente para medir las discapacidades al realizar las actividades de la vida diaria se utilizó el test de Dash, con los datos obtenidos se pudo evidenciar los resultados luego de la aplicación de la técnica, llegando a cubrir las expectativas de los objetivos planteados. Para verificar la hipótesis se analizaron los datos obtenidos de las evaluaciones y en relación con los objetivos y con la aplicación de la prueba T de Student se realizó la comprobación de la misma, demostrando que la aplicación de Sonoforesis es eficaz en tratamiento fisioterapéutico de osteoartritis en manos.
This research work develops important aspects of the benefits of applying sonophoresis in physiotherapy treatment of osteoarthritis in the hands of geriatric patients of the Home Sacred Heart of Jesus in the city of Ambato. The essence of the problem was studied to investigate in a population of 25 elderly patients who were administered the technique sonophoresis, these patients were evaluated by scales, EVA scale is used to measure the degree of pain, Dreiser scale was used to measure the rate of functionality of the hand and finally Dash test was used to measure disability to perform activities of daily living, with data from the results became evident after the application of the technique, coming to meet the expectations of the objectives. To test the hypothesis the data obtained from analyzes and assessments in relation to the objectives and implementation of the Student t test checking it was made, showing that the implementation of Sonophoresis is effective in treating osteoarthritis physiotherapy hands.
