El presente trabajo técnico se basó en el estudio del comportamiento de materiales frente al fuego, para realizar el cálculo del índice de inflamabilidad vertical de los materiales textiles utilizados en el interior de las carrocerías, este estudio nació de la necesidad de conocer el índice de inflamabilidad el cual es un requisito que deben cumplir las empresas carroceras para ser calificadas por la norma INEN ecuatoriana. Para el cumplimiento de esto se partió por una investigación para conocer cuáles eran los principales materiales textiles que se utilizan en las carrocerías. A continuación, se procedió a la utilización de la NORMA ASTM D6413 para conocer los requisitos, materiales e insumos necesarios para el diseño y construcción de la cámara de inflamabilidad vertical, con este diseño y siguiendo los lineamientos de la norma se procedió a realizar la prueba de inflamabilidad. Una vez realizada la prueba de inflamabilidad vertical, procedimos a la determinación de cuales son los materiales textiles mas apropiados para la utilización en el interior de las carrocerías, para poder garantizar la mayor seguridad posible en caso de presencia de fuego dentro del mismo o en caso de tener un incendio de la carrocería.
The present technical work is based on the study of behavior of materials against fire, to calculate the index of vertical inflammation of the textile materials used inside the bodywork, this study has the need to know the index of inflammation. It is a requirement that bodywork companies must have to be qualified by the Ecuadorian INEN standard. For the fulfillment of this it started by an investigation to know which were the main textile materials that are used in the bodywork. Then, we proceeded to the use of ASTM D6413 Norm, materials and supplies necessary for the design and construction of the vertical chamber, with this design and following the guidelines of the standard of the Norm, the flammability test was done. Once the vertical inflammation test has been carried out, procedures to establish for the most appropriate textile materials for use inside bodywork, in order to guarantee the greatest possible safety in the event of the presence of fire inside it or in case of having a body fire.
