This study aims to analyze the incidence of urban transport in air pollution in the city of Ambato, for the establishment of an alternative solution. The investigation was initiated by carrying out a detailed study of the routes carried out by the transport units, taking into account the time it takes to travel the routes and their respective distance. In addition, the factors that influence people's perception of the transport system and the pollution they generate in the air were identified. Finally, and taking into account the aforementioned variables, a possible solution to the problem could be proposed, and it is the establishment of an annual tax that we all must be willing to pay to improve the quality of the air we breathe. For this, a logistic econometric model was applied that determined what are the factors that have an impact on the population's willingness to pay this tax. Finally, this investigation concluded with the hypothetical price that each individual is willing to pay to try to mitigate air pollution, which turns out to be USD 17.01 per individual.
Este estudio tiene como finalidad analizar la incidencia del transporte urbano en la contaminación del aire de la ciudad de Ambato, para el establecimiento de una alternativa de solución. Se inició la investigación realizando un estudio detallado de los recorridos que realizan las unidades de transporte, tomando en cuenta el tiempo que tardan en recorrer las rutas y su respectiva distancia. Además se identificaron los factores que inciden en la percepción que tienen las personas acerca del sistema de transporte y la contaminación que generan en el aire. Finalmente y tomando en cuenta las variables mencionadas, se pudo proponer una posible solución al problema, y es el establecimiento de un impuesto anual que todos debemos estar dispuestos a pagar para mejorar la calidad del aire que respiramos. Para ello se aplicó un modelo econométrico logístico que determinó cuales son los factores que repercuten en una predisposición de la población para pagar este impuesto. Finalmente, esta investigación concluyó con el precio hipotético que cada individuo está dispuesto a pagar para tratar de mitigar la contaminación del aire, que resulta ser de USD 17,01 por individuo.
