los riesgos laborales debe entenderse como la teórica posibilidad de daño que puede sufrirse bajo determinadas circunstancias, existen factores de riesgos específicos que entrañan el riesgo de enfermedad profesional u ocupacional y que ocasionan efectos a los asegurados, los siguientes: químico, físico, biológico, ergonómico y sicosocial. La enfermedad profesional se considera como un deterioro lento y paulatino de la salud del trabajador, producida por la exposición continuada a situaciones adversas, mientras que el accidente de trabajo es un suceso que, presentándose en forma inesperada, interrumpe la continuidad del trabajo y causa daño al trabajador. El desarrollo de enfermedades profesionales es un tema por demás interesante y complejo que debe ser abordado desde el contexto, social, cultural y legal en el que se incrusta. Este se vincula estrechamente con los riesgos laborales, ya que al parecer estos son su génesis y al realizar una investigación no se pueden apartar los temas, en este sentido se indaga que tipo de relación existe entre enfermedades profesionales y riesgos laborales, tratando de esclarecer los factores que pueden ser determinantes para la aparición de dichas enfermedades y así mismo de existir cuales son las estrategias pertinentes para disminuir o controlar el aparecimiento de las mismas.
