The main objective of this present proyect is to analyze the level of social entrepreneurship in the textile smarket in Ambato, the capital city of Tungurahua, as well as in the cantons of the same province. Moreover, taking into consideration the gender aspect in participation. The research is an indepht descriptive analysis of the reality of the entrepreneurship. It was done using a questionnaire that given to a sample of 139 individuals. Contingency tables were used to improve the discussion results. Finally, an ANOVA analysis was carried out to relate the reasons that led to the entrepreneurship in the clothing sector. The main results show that social entrepreneurship does not differ in the urban or rural location of the entrepreneur. It fulfills a social need for self-employment and subsistence at an age where people start with family responsibilities, a need for own income and family support. Moreover, it is influenced by skills and abilities generated by previous experience.
El principal objetivo del presente proyecto de investigación es analizar el nivel de emprendimiento social en el sector textil tanto en Ambato, ciudad capital de Tungurahua, así como en los cantones de la misma provincia, considerando el aspecto de género en la participación. En la investigación se realizó un profundo análisis descriptivo de la realidad del emprendimiento para lo cual se aplicó un cuestionario a una muestra de 139 individuos y se emplearon tablas de contingencia para mejorar la discusión de los resultados; finalmente se realizó un análisis ANOVA para relacionar las razones que llevaron al emprendimiento en el sector confección de prendas de vestir. Los principales resultados evidencian que el emprendimiento social no difiere de la ubicación urbana o rural del emprendedor, sino de cumplir una necesidad social de autoempleo y subsistencia donde influyen la edad en la que se inició con cargas familiares, el capital propio, el apoyo familiar y las habilidades y destrezas generadas por experiencia previa.
