El presente análisis se basa en una investigación de la Universidad Técnica de Ambato, sobre la participación política en la mujer Salasaca, la misma que se realizó con una muestra de 354 individuos de la población indígena de Salasaca, provincia de Tungurahua. El marco teórico fue realizado desde una propuesta metodológica de las teorías del sur que establece un dialogo de saberes y traducciones transculturales, favorecen una investigación cuali-cuantitativo se realizaron encuestas y acercamiento a través de visitas. Se puso énfasis en los procesos de colonización exógena y endógena, que repercutieron en la construcción de género y sus roles. La influencia del ciclo de pobreza en que la mujer ha estado sumergida, debido a su exposición de una colonización impuesta por la conquista española, y perpetuada por la cultura mestiza ecuatoriana que termino en el poco acceso a la educación, estatus socioeconómico y participación política. Al no existir estas actividades, no existe conciencia en la forma en que el ser humano quiere a toda instancia intervenir en una participación política saludable y democrática, así lo confirma los datos obtenidos en la investigación, en temas de ciudadanía y los principios de participación.
The present analysis is based on an investigation of the Technical University of Ambato, about the political participation in the Salasaca woman, the same one that was carried out with a sample of 354 individuals of the indigenous population of Salasaca, province of Tungurahua. The theoretical framework was made from a methodological proposal of southern theories that establishes a dialogue of transcultural knowledge and translations, favoring a qualitative-quantitative investigation, surveys and approaching through visits. Emphasis was placed on the processes of exogenous and endogenous colonization, which affected the construction of gender and its roles. The influence of the cycle of poverty in which women have been submerged, due to their exposure of a colonization imposed by the Spanish conquest, and perpetuated by the Ecuadorian mestizo culture that ended in little access to education, socioeconomic status and political participation. In the absence of these activities, there is no awareness of the way in which the human being wants at all times to intervene in a healthy and democratic political participation, this is confirmed by the data obtained in the research, in subjects of citizenship and the principles of participation.
