The incidence of cooperative learning on the teaching and learning process in five-year old children

Description: This research was carried out in Quito, at Comil 10 Abdón Calderón with first years of E.G.B. The research was made with two sections, the one A and the other B, taking the first one as the experimental group and the second as the control, with the purpose of applying the strategies of Cooperative Learning in the daily work with the children of this year of basic education. The experimental group consists of 31 cadets and the control group has 29 cadets. The load English is 3 daily hours with each section; therefore the period of work with cooperative learning in the experimental group was total. It is quite difficult for the children and girls of 5 year-old age in being able to share, so, they are in the egocentric stage and it is normal that they don't know how to work in groups. For this reason, that was a challenge teaching children to work in groups, but in team work; that is to say, to work all to get a single non personal objective, but grupal, so that the recognition or the prize is not for a specific person, but for the group. After the application time, the experimental group has a considerable advance in the cooperation topic and work but in the level of acquired knowledge. Because it is certain that the children learn more than their errors and from the lived experiences and shared with the other ones, so, they learn more among them with the base of teacher s help.
