El contrato de lectura proporciona al espectador del video arte los parámetros para su participación en la enunciación del sentido. Implica reconocimiento e interpretación de referencias, inferencias y contextualizaciones; asimismo implica una lectura interpretativa segunda, post visionado, que ordena e integra los signos del vídeo en un conjunto unitario y coherente. La generación de sentido en el video arte es un ejercicio del poder compartido que reposiciona el acto creativo en tanto que fundador de un universo de sentido. La participación prevista del espectador, incorporada en la situación de lectura, es imprescindible para la identidad de la obra, como discurso y estatus, resaltando su carácter de construcción que transporta consigo sus propias fronteras simbólicas. El análisis del contrato de lectura en el video arte identifica y define el rol de sus recursos discursivos, aportando a la comprensión de la comunicación artística y a los fundamentos creativos del video arte. The reading contract provides the viewer of video art the parameters for their participation in the enunciation of meaning. The generation of meaning in video art is an exercise of shared power that repositions the creative act as the founder of a universe of meaning. The expected participation of the spectator, incorporated in the reading situation, is essential for the identity of the video, as a discourse and status, highlighting its character of construction that carries with it its own symbolic frontiers. The analysis of the reading contract in video art identifies and defines the role of its discursive resources, contributing to the understanding of artistic communication and the creative foundations of video art.
