Description

This research conducts an analysis of four components affecting the amount of energy consumption in the end-use sectors of the Ecuadorian economy. They break down in four effects, namely, the level of activity, composition of activity in the sector, energy intensity and energy mix. The sum of the above factors results in final energy use in the country. The effects are analysed over the period from 1979-80 to 2012-13. The study comprises the key end-use sectors of the economy, namely, industrial, transport and residential.
