This research focuses on the territory the city forgets. It is not only interesting the strange phenomena that occur in it at the globalized level, but also how strong is its presence in our national history: it would be absurd to deny or forget how decisive this geography has been in the formation and survival of our society. Or is it a lie that we have depended on and depend now on this eternal spring which continues to save us from our own ignorance; And yet, we have not plotted a different response to a momentary fair? The proposal aims to arrive at a logical and formal response, on how to project and act in the Ecuadorian hinterland. One of the abandoned ecosystems has been selected: the Andean moor; and has been drawn from his analysis two relational activities derived from the qocha: the thermal bath, and the sowing and harvesting of water. The analyzed question revolves around the need for architecture in this natural context; If there is, how is the relationship between the city and the hinterland, between the natural and the artificial, between nature and the human being: what and how is the boundary between culture and nature?
Esta investigación se centra en el territorio que la ciudad olvida. Pues no solo son interesantes los extraños fenómenos que ocurren en ella a nivel global(izado), sino también, cuán fuerte es su presencia en nuestra historia nacional: sería absurdo negar u olvidar cuán determinante ha sido esta geografía en la formación y sobrevivencia de nuestra sociedad. ¿O, acaso es mentira que hemos dependido y dependemos de esta primavera eterna que continúa salvándonos de la propia ignorancia; y aun así, no hemos maquinado respuesta diferente a una feria momentánea? La propuesta pretende llegar a una respuesta lógica y formal, sobre la manera de proyectar y actuar en el hinterland ecuatoriano. Se ha seleccionado a uno de los ecosistemas abandonados: el páramo andino; y se ha extraído de su análisis dos actividades relacionales derivadas de la qocha: el baño termal, y la siembra y cosecha de agua. La cuestión analizada gira en torno a la necesidad de la arquitectura en este contexto natural; si existe, cómo es la relación entre la ciudad y el hinterland, entre lo natural y lo artificial, entre la naturaleza y el ser humano: ¿cuál y cómo es el límite entre cultura y natura?
