This article presents the conclusions of the process of investigation: how advertising indirectly influences the way women think and act according to the stereotype of female gender. It often shows woman as a sexual objects for commercial ends. This is very commonplace in our society, where gender stereotypes are present in many different media. The introduction of the new Communications Law has imposed regulations to publicity, which has generated controversy in the world of the Ecuadorian advertising. This thesis focuses on a comprehensive analysis of the application of the new law. In addition it investigates the effects that can cause these stereotypes of the female image. The impact and effects produced by these stereotypes are many and especially effect the young.
La publicidad puede afectar directa o indirectamente en la manera de verse, de ser y de actuar que supuestamente debe cumplir el género femenino. Muchas veces se muestra a la mujer en productos publicitarios como un objeto sexual con fines de lucro. Esto es algo ya banalizado en nuestra sociedad, en la cual los estereotipos de género están muy presentes. La implantación de la nueva Ley Orgánica de Comunicación ha impuesto varias normativas al mundo de la comunicación en general, y de la publicidad en particular. Esta tesis se centra en un análisis completo entorno a la aplicación de la nueva Ley. Mi investigación muestra que la ley si esta cambiando ciertos aspectos de la forma de hacer publicidad, pero todavía no se aplica del todo y su subjetividad según lo comprueba esta investigación resulta evidente.
